This delightful little book has been my bedside companion on many sleepless nights and will no doubt remain so for a very long time. A 'dime novel' it may be, but which deserves a careful read, I find. The twists of the plot are so incredible that the story achieves an unsurpassable degree of perfection.
Yet after a while, my mind sidetracked and I started to consider lesser aspects, minute matters that seemed as entertaining as the book itself. I am like an eager visitor at an exhibition, who starts peering at small details here and there, finding them no less fascinating than the whole event.
Now I am reading this book 'with a small-tooth comb' like Hannay in his flat after the Portland Place murder. This blog only intends to share my findings and interrogations.
